Subscription Update Obituary

Virgil E. Myers, 87, of Auburn, died Tuesday, May 8th in his home with his loving family beside him. He leaves his wife of 64 years, Barbara R. (McCann) Myers; 2 sons, Thomas J. Myers and his wife Patricia A. of Cumberland, RI and Robert P. Myers of Auburn; a sister, Violet Bond of Moore, OK; and 2 granddaughters, Jennifer and Lindsay Myers.

He was born in Caddo County, OK the son of Joel and Nora (Ashworth) Myers. Mr. Myers worked as an auto mechanic for many years until his retirement in 1982. He was a WWII U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Myers made 5 Beach Heads while serving in Africa, Italy and Europe including D-Day, and also fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He received a Silver and Bronze Star, a Purple Heart and a Belgian Croix de Guerre with Palm.

Funeral services and burial are private. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester, is directing arrangements.
