Subscription Update Obituary

    Victoria Margaret (Mickiewrcius) Kolesh, 90, died Thurs. April 22, 2010 at the Beaumont Rehabilitation Center in Worcester. Her husband of 63 years, Victor Anthony Kolesh died in December of 2009. Up until Vic's passing, Vickie and Vic lived in Holden in the house they built in 1950.

    Victoria was born in Worcester and grew up on Upsala St. She was the daughter of the late John A. and Eva (Litiska) Mickiewrcius. Vickie was a graduate of Classical High School in Worcester. In her youth, she was an accomplished musician and played First Violin in the Classical High Orchestra. During the summers of her high school years, she waitressed and played violin in a Bethlehem, NH hotel resort. Victoria was proud to represent Worcester as Concert Mistress for the All High Symphony Orchestra for a special performance in Buffalo, NY which was listened to back home by friends and family on a special radio broadcast.

    After high school, Vickie attended classes at Worcester Girl's Trade School and then worked as a clerk in the shoe department at Denholm's Department Store for several years. When Vickie married Vic, she became a homemaker who thrived on a caring and loving relationship with her husband. She enjoyed entertaining and going out to dinner with family and friends. She was a very generous and loving individual. Vickie enjoyed the beach, nature and especially her wooded backyard and gardens.

    Mrs. Kolesh is survived by one nephew, Peter J. Tankis of Uxbridge, one niece, Linda K. Desrosiers of Sutton and many great nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by one sister, Eva Tankis and three nephews, John Tankis, Daniel Tankis and Michael Tankis.

    Funeral services will be held Sat. May 1, 2010 at 10 AM in the BUMA FUNERAL HOME, 101 North Main St. (RT. 122), Uxbridge, 01569.

    Burial will be private in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.

    In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Research, Div. of Development, 10 Brookine Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445.
