Subscription Update Obituary

     Timothy J. Sullivan Jr., 78, of Worcester, died peacefully Saturday, October 12, 2013 surrounded by his family at the Reservoir Center for Health and Rehabilitation in Marlborough.

     He leaves his wife of 51 years, Virginia “Ginger” (Persson) Sullivan; three sons, Joseph C. Sullivan and his wife Stacy of Worcester, James P. Sullivan and his significant other Johnnie Eubanks of Worcester, Kevin M. Sullivan and his wife Lynne of Hudson; nine grandchildren, Molly and Brendan Sullivan, Shamus, Teddy, Everett and Liam Sullivan, and Abigail, Cara and Lauren Sullivan, a sister, Sister Elizabeth Sullivan S.S.J. of Chicopee, and many nieces and nephews. His brothers, Michael J. and William J. Sullivan, and his sister, Mary P. Courtois, predeceased him.

     Tim was born in Worcester, son of Timothy J. and Mary E. (Dineen) Sullivan and lived in Worcester all his life. He graduated in 1953 from St. John’s High School on Temple St. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps including a tour of duty in Beirut, Lebanon.

     Tim was a mill operator in the Abrasives Division of the Norton Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1994.

     Tim was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Church and a longtime volunteer with the St. John’s High School Alumni Assn. He was an avid follower of area professional sports teams, especially the New England Patriots.

     Tim was devoted to his family and found enormous joy in his friendships with his grandchildren.

     Calling hours are Tuesday, October 15 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. The funeral will be Wednesday, October 16 from the funeral home with a Mass at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 353 Grove St., Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.

     In lieu of flowers, the Sullivan family suggest memorial donations to Citizens United for Research in Epilepsy [CURE], 430 West Erie St., Suite 210, Chicago, IL 60654.
