Subscription Update Obituary

     Thomas Ralph Reynolds, 71, formerly of Oakham, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at the University of Florida Health in Jacksonville, Florida.

     He leaves his loving wife of 48 years, JoAnne C. (Doresky) Reynolds; a daughter, Pamela L. Ford and her husband Paul of Rutland; two grandchildren, Michaela and Tyler. He was born in Worcester, the son of Ralph L. and Helen (Moriarty) Reynolds and had lived in Oakham before moving to Florida eight years ago.

     Tom graduated from South High School and enlisted in the Army National Guard in 1964. He was appointed to the Worcester Fire Department in 1972 and was a firefighter for 32 years serving on Ladder 4 out of the Webster Square Station. In 1979, Tom was honored for heroism and was presented the Firefighter of the Year award. At the same time, he also worked at Holy Cross College for 48 years. Tom was a member of Worcester Firefighters Local 1009 International Association, the Central New England Brittany Club and was an AKC Hunt Test Judge for many years. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

     Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 30, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. A celebration of Tom’s life will be held on Friday, Jan. 31, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a committal service at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Box 4 Special Services Canteen, c/o the Worcester Fire Department Credit Union, 34 Glennie St., Worcester, MA 01605; or NEADS, Dogs for Deaf and Disabled Americans, P.O. Box 213, West Boylston, MA 01583.
