Subscription Update Obituary

Thomas R. Flaherty, 66, passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 after an illness.

Tom was born in Worcester, the son of Walter J. and Sally M. (Rennicks) Flaherty and lived most of his life in Holden. He was a computer programmer for many years retiring several years ago. He enjoyed gardening, saltwater fishing and loved to spend time with his grandchildren.

He leaves his loving wife of 47 years, Cynthia M. (Powers) Flaherty; his sons, Sam M. Flaherty of Holden and Ryan T. Flaherty of Holden; his grandchildren, Brayden, Jailynn and Mason Flaherty; his brothers, Kenneth R. Flaherty and his wife, Geraldine of Rutland and Steven C. Flaherty and his wife, Carol Merchant of Worcester; his sister, Dawn E. Auger and her husband, Wayne of Rutland; his brother-in-law, Robert F. Powers of Florida; his sister-in-law, Pamela E. Flood of Florida; and many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Tom’s family on Thursday, May 13th from 12 to 1 p.m. followed by a celebration of life service at 1 p.m. in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Due to Covid-19 restrictions and for everyone’s safety, appropriate social distancing and wearing of a mask will be required. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution in Tom’s memory may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Attn Donner Services, P.O. Box 98018, Washington, DC 20090-8018.
