Subscription Update Obituary

Thomas D. Raymond, 63, of North Grafton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 19, 2007, in his home. He leaves his loving wife, Diane L. (Laflamme) Raymond, with whom he would have celebrated forty-one years of marriage on May 14. He also leaves his daughter, Christy L. Raymond-Hassett and her husband Paul Hassett; his three adoring grandchildren, Jessica L. Edwards and her twin Michael E. Edwards, and Thomas L. Edwards, all of Worcester; his father, Roland E. Raymond of Worcester; four brothers, Richard Raymond of Sarasota, Florida, Robert Raymond and his wife Gail of Millbury and Brewster, Douglas Raymond and his wife Joan of Millbury, and David Raymond of Barre; five sisters, Jean Banks and her husband Richard, Ruth Banks, and Mary Jane Hamilton all of Grafton, Maureen DiPadua and her husband Deacon James of Petersham, and Janice McQuade and her husband Paul of Millbury; many nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters in law. He was predeceased by his mother, Catherine E. (Howard) Raymond, two brothers, Roland Raymond, Jr., and Roger Raymond, as well as two sisters, Norma and Joan Raymond. Thomas was born in Worcester, and attended Worcester public schools; he later lived in Oxford for several years, before moving to Grafton in 1973.

Tom retired in 1993 from Conrail, where he worked as a machinist for twenty-seven years. He had previously worked for Penn Central Railroad and The New Haven-Hartford Railroad. He was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.

Mr. Raymond enjoyed his retirement, helped raise his grandchildren, and took great pride in his family, his yard, and his home.

A funeral Mass for Tom will be held Monday, April 23, at 10:30 a.m. in Saint Philip's Church, 12 West Street (off Church St. in the town center), Grafton. (Please go directly to church) Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. There are no calling hours.
