Subscription Update Obituary

    Thomas E. Smith, 49, of 175 State Avenue died Tuesday, March 2 in Wing Memorial Hospital after an illness.

    He leaves his friend and guardian, Mary Lou Stankiewicz of Spencer and his longtime friend, Clayton Whitehead of Palmer.

    Thomas was born in Boston, son of Bernard and Ruth (Kurtz) Smith. He was a longtime resident at Monson Developmental Center in Palmer. He enjoyed taking van rides, swimming, going for walks, going to the beach and seafood dinners. He loved to people watch especially watching people when they were working.

    The funeral will be held Friday, March 5 in the Daly Hall at Monson Developmental Center, 175 State Avenue, Palmer at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour will precede the service from 9:00-10:00 AM. J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer is directing arrangements.
