Subscription Update Obituary

Theresa B. (Babin) Shaw, 91, of Westfield Dr., formerly of Worcester, passed away peacefully, Tuesday May 29th at the home of her son, Michael, where she lived for the past three years.

Her husband, Ernest H. Shaw, passed away in 1984. Born in Worcester, she was a daughter of the late Willard and Emma (Fortier) Babin and lived in Worcester for most of her life before moving to Rhode Island.

Theresa worked for the former Peoples Savings Bank in Worcester for many years and was a founding member of St. Joan of Arc Church.

Besides her son Michael, she leaves her sons, James A. Shaw of California, Robert E. Shaw, of Charlton and Richard J. Shaw, of Phillipston; her daughter, Ann T. Briggs of Milford; a brother, Lionel Babin of Ventura, CA; two sisters: Evelyn Lapointe of Worcester and Claire Girouard of Charlton, MA; 20 grandchildren and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Richard and Aimee Babin, Bernadette Lapointe, Antoinette Bleu and Henrietta Corey and grandmother of the late Thomas Shaw.

Friends and Relatives are invited to visit with the family, THURSDAY, May 31st from 9am to 10:30am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in St. Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, MA. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Theresa to the Home and Hospice Care of Rhode Island, 169 George St., Pawtucket, RI 02860.
