Subscription Update Obituary

   Thelma T. (Whalen) Fitzsimmons, 86, of Worcester, died Monday, December 1st in UMass-Memorial Medical Center.

   Her husband of 37 years, Edward F. Fitzsimmons, died in 1978. She leaves a daughter, Carol A. Farmer and her husband Philip of Leicester; three sons, Walter E. Fitzsimmons and his partner Paula Daigle of Worcester, Robert F. Fitzsimmons and his wife Linda of Holden, and Brian M. Fitzsimmons and his partner Christine Sullivan of North Grosvenordale, CT; a brother, Arnold Record of Worcester; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by four brothers, Harold, Kenneth, Edward and George Whalen.

   She was born in Burlington, VT, the daughter of George and Isabelle (Cross) Whalen and lived in Leicester for many years before moving to Worcester. Thelma was a former member of St. Joseph's Church, Cherry Valley.

   The funeral services and burial will be private. There are no calling hours. The family requests that flowers be omitted and donations be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701. O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, is directing arrangements.
