Subscription Update Obituary

     Thaddeus Magerowski, 92, formerly of Pineland Ave., died Sunday April 29, 2012 in St. Mary Health Center, 39 Queen St. His wife Dorothy (O’Connell) Magerowski died in 1999.
He leaves a grandson, Eric O’Connell of North Providence, RI., and two great-grandchildren, a brother, Joseph Magerowski and a sister, Wanda Berestin both of Worcester and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two step sons, Terrance “Terry” O’Connell and Timothy O’Connell and a brother and four sisters, John Magerowski, Stella Fournier, Sophie Kuczka, Jane O’Brien and Helen Norris. He was born in Worcester, a son of John and Frances (Szlachetka) Magerowski and lived here all his life.
     Mr. Magerowski was an engineer all of his working life for the Worcester Gas Co., now known as NSTAR. He retired many years ago. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II serving with the Naval Air Forces. He was a member of the Polish American Veterans of World War II and the American Legion. He was a graduate of St Mary’s School, Classical High School and attended Holy Cross College before entering the Air Cadets. He was a former member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church and Our Lady of Czestochowa Church.
     The funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 1 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10:30 AM in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour will be held on Tuesday May 1 from 9:00 to 10:00 AM in the funeral home.
