Subscription Update Obituary

     Thaddeus J. “Ted” Holden, 93, of 23 Wheelock St., died Friday, Feb. 3, 2012 in Webster Manor, Webster.

     He leaves his son, John F. Holden of Auburn; a sister, Genevieve S. Lorkiewicz of Oxford; a stepson, Brian Hopkins of Phoenix, AZ; four grandchildren: Cassandra and Scott Holden of Oxford, Russell Hopkins and his wife Paula of Parma, OH, and Laura Hopkins and her fiancé Kevin Chivryk of Auburn; a great granddaughter, Hannah Cherry of Auburn; several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a brother, Henry Holden; a sister, Cecilia M. Kosciuszek and his former wife Frances (Cormier) Holden in 1998.

     Ted was a heat treater and metal forger at Wyman Gordon Co., Worcester for 32 years, retiring in 1981.

     He was born in Thompson, CT, the son of John and Josephine (Jurczyk) Holden and later served his country during WWII with the U.S, Army. He fought in the Battle of Normandy where he was wounded and awarded the Purple Heart.

     He was a member of St. Roch’s Church, the D.A.V.- Worcester Chapter and VFW Post 5663 in Oxford.

     Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 7 at 10 a.m. in the MORRISON-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester. Burial will follow, with Military Honors, in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Monday, Feb. 6 from 5 to 7p.m. in the funeral home.
