Suzann M. Broomfield, 41 named “Mom of the Year”


Spencer- Suzann M. (Erickson) Broomfield, 41, of 9 Uniberry Place, Palm Coast, Fla., formerly of Spencer, a former joint owner of an answering service, died July 15 in Ormond Memorial Hospital, Ormond Beach, Fla., after a long illness.


  She leaves her husband, Raymond F. Broomfield Sr., two daughters, Diane E. Daly of Daytona, Fla., and  Kelly A. Daly of Palm Coast; a stepson, Raymond F. Broomfield Jr. of Auburn: two stepdaughters, Kimberly J. Broomfield of Worcester and Tammy L. Broomfield, with the Coast Guard in Rockland, Maine; her parents, Alden  F. and J. Ann (Murray) Erickson of Leicester; two brothers, Steven A. and Brett A.J. Erickson, both of Worcester; three sisters, Diann E. Howe of Leicester, Roxann L. Bridges of Holden and Juliann E. Erickson of Worcester; a step-grandson; nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester and later lived in Leicester. She lived 10 years in Spencer before moving to Florida in 1997. She graduated from Marian High School in 1975 and the Salter School, both in Worcester.


  Mrs. Broomfield was manager of the Deli-O in Worcester for several years. She then worked for about seven years at Advantage Telephone Answering Service in Worcester. After that, she co-founded Professional First Line Answering Service, which she jointly owned and operated until she moved to Florida.


Mrs. Broomfield was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Palm Coast. She was recently named “Mom of the Year” by Radio Station WVYB in Daytona Beach.


  A memorial service will be held at 10a.m Wednesday in Lindquist-Lundin Funeral Home, 36 Butler St., Worcester. Cremation was in Florida. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
