Subscription Update Obituary

     Susan M. “Grammy” (McArdle) Baron, 72, of Worcester died at home with her family by her side on Wednesday December 25, 2013.

Her husband of 52 years, Kenneth Baron died on July 7, 2013.

She leaves her children, Kenneth E. Baron of Worcester; Shelley Nugent and her husband Michael of Sturbridge; Steven J. Baron and his wife Kelley of Spencer and Dale C. Baron of Auburn; nine grandchildren, Erica Nugent, Michael Nugent and his wife Krissy, Erin Baron, Patrick Baron, Jillian Baron Seth Baron, Zachary Baron, Casey Baron and Cameron Baron and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Carol Raskett. Susan was born in Worcester, a daughter of Edward and Helen (Reeves) McArdle and has lived in Worcester all of her life.

Mrs. Baron worked many years for the City of Worcester Public School Dept., and was a cook and manager at Belmont Street Community School. She retired several years ago. She was a member of St. John’s Church. Susan enjoyed spending time at the camp with her family and friends.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2013 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St, with a Mass at 10:00 A.M. in St. John Church, 40 Temple St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, December 28, from 8:30 to 9:30 AM.
