Susan Jean (Beatty) Hutchings, of Worcester, passed away peacefully, December 19th at home with her loving family at her side. Her husband of 14 years, Raymond A. Hutchings died in 1984. She is survived by her sons, Kevin R. Hutchings and Andrew B. Hutchings and his wife, Jenifer; two grandchildren, Emily and Ashley Hutchings; six siblings, Richard Couture, Linda Carota, Roger Seth, Anji Seth-Stoltz, Janet Couture and Jennifer McKenzie. She was predeceased by her sister, Christina Benoit; her parents, Bradford C. Beatty, Jean (Saben) Couture, and her step-father, Eric Couture.

She was born in Worcester and was a graduate of North High School. Susan had been employed as a sales representative for ES Components, retiring in 2014. She had also worked as a librarian at the Worcester Public Library for many years. She and her husband relocated to South Deerfield, MA for several years before returning to Worcester to raise their family.

One of her favorite pastimes was spent watching her boys play hockey, as well as joining the gang for Sunday “Tea”. Sue also enjoyed spending time at the Cape sitting on the deck or pulling up a stool at Doyle’s, as well as watching tennis, especially Wimbledon and other Grand Slam events. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, served with a side of sarcasm that would always put a smile on everyone’s face.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the kind and caring people at the St. Vincent Cancer and Wellness Center and the Jewish Home Hospice team.

Her funeral is Monday, December 28th at 11:00 a.m. in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Inturnment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park. A visitation will be held from 10:00 until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
