Subscription Update Obituary

Stella R. (Zadvidas) Boisvert, 91, of Salisbury St., died Saturday, December 3, 2011, at UMass Memorial Healthcare-Memorial Campus, Worcester, after an illness. She was born in Cambridge, the daughter of Lithuanian immigrants, William and Mary (Kawolis) Zadvidas and lived 41 years in Holden.

Her husband of 57 years, Walter A. Boisvert died in 1996. She leaves a son, Walter “Chuck” G. Boisvert and his wife Michelle of Meridian, Idaho; two daughters, Carolyn M. Rassias and her husband Angelo of Holden and Joan A. Newman and her long time companion Hal Brooker of St. Petersburg, Florida; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; several nephews and nieces; and her son-in-law, George Bombredi of Old Orchard Beach, Maine. She is predeceased by her daughter, Phyllis J. Bombredi who died on January 12th of this year and a brother, John Zadvidas.

Stella worked as a nurse’s aide at the former Worcester State Hospital where she worked 13 years, retiring in 1977. She previously worked at the former Grafton State Hospital. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Jefferson. Stella loved animals and enjoyed watching nature in her yard. Her greatest love was spending time with her grand and great grandchildren who will miss her outgoing and engaging personality.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. The funeral will be held from the funeral home on Friday, December 9, with a Funeral Mass celebrating Stella’s life at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 114 Princeton St., Jefferson. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary’s Church, P.O.
