Subscription Update Obituary

    Stella D. (Sauro) Button, 92, formerly of Worcester, MA, died Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at Woodpecker Hill Healthcare Center.

    Her husband, Daniel F. Button, predeceased her in 1988. She leaves a son, Robert Button of Worcester; two daughters: Dorothy Senay of Canterbury, CT and Patricia MacNeil of Hudson, MA; eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. She also leaves a brother, Mariano Sauro, Jr. of Orlando, FL and a sister, Sarah Pignatiello of So. Windsor, CT; and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a daughter, Diane Segal of Worcester in 1999; three brothers: Michael, Joseph and Frank Sauro; and five sisters: Mary Zellmer, Rose Janulewicz, Josephine Carey, Julia Sauro and Jennie Sauro.

    She was born in Worcester, daughter of Mariano and Jennie (Sena) Sauro. Stella was a former member of Christ the King Church in Worcester prior to moving to Connecticut and then Rhode Island.

    The funeral will be held on Friday, August 6 from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Visiting hours are Thursday, August 5 from 4-7 PM in the funeral home.

    In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ the King Church.
