Subscription Update Obituary

Stanley R. Tokarz, 88, formerly of 383 Worcester St., W. Boylston died Friday, May 27, 2011, at home, after being stricken ill. His wife of 46 years, Helen M. (Micolites) Tokarz died in 1997.

Stanley leaves his daughter, Deborah A. (Tokarz) (Cooke) Howell and her husband Gary of West Boylston; his son, Brian J. Tokarz and his wife Amy of Holden; his grandchildren, Sean Michael and Matthew Ryan Cooke, Andrew, Tony Tokarz, Rachel Howell Cooke and Sarah Howell Rheaume; his great grandchildren, Logan Taylor Cooke and Ava Isabelle Rheaume; his sister-in-law, Vera Tokarz of Columbus, GA and many nieces and nephews, including Linda Tokarz and her two sons, Nick and Adam Fuller, Shirley McQueston and Peter Tokarz. Eleven brothers and two sisters predeceased him.

Stanley was born in Jefferson, the son of Peter and Gladys (Gorczyca) Tokarz. He was a graduate of WPI. Stanley was a Ret. Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force and served in the 97th Bomb Group in WWII and Korea. Stanley worked at The Veterans Administration as Chief of Engineering; he then worked as the building inspector with the Town of West Boylston before retiring. He loved to read and write, especially about his experiences during his time of service, which he was very proud of. He was a member of the West Boylston American Legion Post #204.

Stanley’s funeral will be on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 from FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 1 W. Boylston St., W. Boylston with a Mass at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester St., W. Boylston. A visiting hour will be held from 9:30 until 10:30 AM at the funeral home on Tuesday morning. Interment will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
