Subscription Update Obituary

    Sophie D. (Pori) Hook, 93, of Stoneville Heights, formerly of Walsh Ave, died Tuesday in the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence after an illness.

    Her husband, Frank J. Hook, died in 1980. She leaves a sister, Ann Konkol, of Holden, two nieces: Mary DiPietro of Leicester, and Roberta Weekley, of Maumee, OH; a nephew Paul Konkol, of Derry, NH.

    She is preceded in death by her three sisters: Mary Falcon, Laura Dubuc, and Statia Walsh; and a brother, John Pori, Jr.

    She was born in Brookfield; she is the daughter of the late John and Blanche (Lakus) Pori.

    Mrs. Hook was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Auburn and the Auburn Senior Citizens Center. She was an avid reader and loved to walk with her friends at the Auburn Mall.

     Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour from 9:30 to 10:30 AM, Friday in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn. Her funeral will be held from the funeral home with a Mass at 11:00 AM, Friday in St. Joseph's Church, 189 Oxford St. North, Auburn. Burial will follow in Worcester Country Memorial Park.

    In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making donations to the Auburn Visiting Nurses Association, 191 Pakachoag St., Auburn, MA 01501 or to the Friends of the Auburn Public Library, 369 Southbridge St., Auburn, MA 01501.
