Subscription Update Obituary

     Silvana “Chippi” (Braidotti) Swett, 85 of Worcester passed away peacefully Thursday, July 10, 2014 surrounded by the family she loved.

Silvana was born in Cividale Del Friuli, province of Udine, Italy daughter of Attilio and Rosa (Pitassi) Braidotti. She grew up in Italy, met and married Bernice R. Swett and immigrated to the United States in 1946. Shortly thereafter, she accepted a position with the former Howard Johnson’s and Ground Round in Shrewsbury working there in many capacities for the next 25 years before retiring.

Silvana is survived by her soul mate and life partner for over 36 years, Bernie Bonne; two daughters, Avis R. Pepin, and Debra A. Mastrogiacomo and her husband Tony all of Shrewsbury; her four granddaughters she adored Kim, Kelly, Lisa and Angela; four great grandchildren, Sophia, Kyle, Gianna, and Audrianna. Extended family members and friends.

Silvana was a traditional Italian mother, who loved to cook and bake Italian delicacies, cookies for her family and whomever would ask. She loved to travel with Bernie making many trips to places in Europe, the United States and the occasional trips to the casino.

Silvana’s funeral will be held Monday, July 14th at 11:00 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. A period of calling hours will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the funeral home prior to the service. Memorial remembrances in her name can be made to St Anne’s Human Services, 130 Boston Turnpike Rd Shrewsbury 01545.
