Shirley V. (Shepard) DeJordy, 84, of Worcester, died Tuesday, January 18, 2011 in the Golden Living Center-The Hermitage. Her husband of 49 years, Richard A. DeJordy, died in 1998.
She leaves her children, Susan E. Mulrooney and her husband David of Spencer and their children, Melissa Huard and her husband Jeff and Michael Brodeur and Becky, both of North Brookfield, and their grandchildren, Brenden Palmer, Kayla Huard and Kristen Brodeur, all of North Brookfield; Shirley M. Horne and her husband Robert and their children Bryan, David and Kathlyn Horne, all of Cumming, GA; Robert R. DeJordy and his wife Leigh of Boylston, their children, Amber and Ashely DeJordy of Worcester, Emily Renaud of Taunton, Jake Oliver of Grafton and Mark Mero of Boylston, and their grandchildren, Morgan Ivory, Mason Rodgers, and Nya Allen, all of Worcester, Makayla and Brodie Renaud both of Taunton and Madelyn and Judah Oliver, both of Grafton; Richard R. DeJordy and his wife Janice Gibson of Worcester and their children, Cavin and Holly DeJordy and Jessica and Thomas Gibson; her sister-in-law, Teresa Sullivan of Shrewsbury. Her sister, Gloria Pease predeceased her.
Mrs. DeJordy was born in Southbridge, the daughter of Wilfred J. and Cecile (Girouard) DeJordy. She was a graduate of the former High School of Commerce. Mrs. DeJordy was a secretary for many years, retiring from WPI. She was the head of the Main South Community Center, president of St. Peter's Women's Guild and the secretary of St. Peter's Choir. Mrs. DeJordy was a member of St. Peter's Church.
The funeral is Saturday, January 22nd from O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Peter's Church, 931 Main Street. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour will be held Saturday morning from 8:30 until 9:30 in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association , 128 Providence Street, Suite 201, Worcester, MA 01604.
