Subscription Update Obituary

   Shirley R. Day, 77, died Tuesday, July 15, 2008 in St. Vincent Hospital. Her husband Duane C. Day died in 2004. She leaves a son, Dennis Day of Millbury; two daughters, Deborah A. Lindholm of Charleston, SC and Diane L. DayGray of Vermont; two brothers, Wilfred Bishop of Spencer and George Bishop of East Brookfield; a sister, Beverly Hickey of East Brookfield; 7 grandchildren, Jennifer, Michelle, Christopher, Lindsay, Suzanne, Ashley and Jensen; 4 great-grandchildren, David, Tyler, Alyssa and Zachery. She was predeceased by her step-father, Donald Page and two sisters, Pauline Muise & Irene Bishop.

   Shirley was born in Spencer the daughter of the late George & Lillian I. (Cote) Bishop and lived many years in East Brookfield before moving back to Spencer. She lived in Howe Village where she enjoyed her many friends and neighbors. Shirley and her husband owned & operated Day's Variety Store in East Brookfield for many years until she retired.

   The funeral will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2008 at 10:00 AM in Pillsbury Funeral Home, Rte 9/Old West Brookfield Rd., Brookfield. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5:00-7:00 PM in the funeral home. Donations may be made in her memory to Tri Valley Elder Services, 10 Mill St., Dudley, MA 01571.
