Shirley A. (Hendrickson) LaBrie, 81, of Auburn died Thursday July 8, 2010 in St. Vincent's Hospital after a brief illness.

    Her husband, Raymond S. LaBrie, died in 2002.

    She leaves her three children: Steven R. LaBrie of Millbury; two daughters: Joanne K. Monks, of Auburn, and Nancy L. Guyan, of Spencer; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; and a sister, Gladys Johnson of Shrewsbury; and several nieces and nephews.

    She was born in Worcester; she was the daughter of the late Axel and Matilda (Grankull) Hendrickson. She was educated in Worcester schools; she was a graduate of Commerce High.

    Mrs. LaBrie worked for the former Guaranty Bank and Trust for 14 years. She later worked for Imperial Distributors in Auburn for 12 years prior to retiring.

    Mrs. LaBrie was a former treasurer of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 2360, and the Bethel Lutheran Church Altar Guild, and also worked as the nursery school secretary at Emmanuel Lutheran Church.

    Shirley enjoyed spending time with her family, making ceramics, and spending winters in Cocoa Beach, FL, going to movies with friends and doing crossword puzzles.

    Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday from 5-7 PM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn. Her funeral service will be held Monday at 11AM in the Bethel Lutheran Church, 90 Bryn Mawr Ave, Auburn. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
