Subscription Update Obituary

    Shelby M. Bisel, 96, died Tuesday Jan. 12th in the Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester.

    His wife of 65 years, Doris E. (Nettelbladt) Bisel died in 2008. He leaves three daughters, Sandra, wife of Paul Tremblay of Millbury, Linda, wife of Richard Richardson of Worcester and Pamela Potter of Millbury; nine grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He was born in Pennsylvania and is predeceased by his parents John and Cora (Retnar) Bisel a sister, Audell Hirshberger, a brother, Ogbert Bisel and two great grandchildren, Samantha and Marshall.

    Mr. Bisel was a window dresser for Liggett Pharmacys and Pevner's Drug Store located in Putnam. He worked in the CC Camps after graduation from high school. He was an Army veteran of WW II and a member of the Olive Branch Lodge of Masons in Millbury. He was known as "snake eyes" in his home town in Pennsylvania.

    His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday Jan. 15th in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. A calling hour will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday prior to the funeral service, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rose Monahan Hospice Home, in care of the VNA Care Network, Inc. Development Office 120 Thomas Street Worcester, MA 01608-1280.
