Shane A Melkonian, 21, of Worcester, died Saturday May 1, 2010 after falling from his motorcycle.

    Shane was born in Guerneville, CA. He is survived by his beloved 2 year old son, John Michael and John's mother and Shane's companion, Cassandra Stewart; his parents, Charlie Melkonian and Kelly Malmborg; his sister, Nairi Melkonian; his dear Aunt Rose and Aunts Sharistan, Mara, Anna, and Jody; his Uncle Eddy; his grandparents, Susan and John Smith; his cousins, Zachary, Karina, Ardavasd, Kyle, Joey, Cheyenne, and Colton; his nephew, Atraeyu Norris and his large extended family of cousins and friends.

    Shane was a passionate father who was devoted to, and loved spending time with his dear son John. He loved life and had a big booming voice that often made him appear bigger than life to those who knew him. He was a charming man with a refined sense of style. Kind-hearted and forgiving, he had a great sense of humor and love of family. Shane's Armenian Heritage was a source of pride to him. He was planning a trip to Armenia this summer. Aside from being a world class prankster and a lover of music his favorite hobby was riding his motorcycle. His family and friends miss him so much and can't imagine this world without him.

    A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, May 6 at the Armenian Apostolic Holy Trinity Church, 635 Grove St. in Worcester. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 5 from 5-8 PM at CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester. Burial is in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to "Nairi Melkonian for the benefit of John Michael Melkonian Fund at Sovereign Bank, account # 39604952653, an account set up to help Shane's' son John.
