Sarah (Koffman) Balawender, 83, of 27 Kinnicutt Rd., died Saturday, January 31st in Memorial Hospital. Her loving husband of 41 years, Stanley Balawender, died in 1991.

   She leaves a son, Michael Balawender and his wife Jacqueline of Camerillo, CA; a daughter, Linda Balawender of Worcester; a niece and a nephew. She was predeceased by her two brothers: Solly and Israel Koffman and her two sisters: Gertrude Karman and Annie Gould.

   She was born in Glasgow, Scotland, a daughter of Harris and Jenny (Stark) Koffman. Sarah worked as a clerk in the commercial credit department of Guarantee Bank and Trust in Worcester. After her retirement, Sarah became a volunteer for many years at the Worcester Public Library.

   She was a member of Temple Emanuel, Jewish Service Center for Older Adults and was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Jewish Healthcare Center.

   Funeral services will be held at 1PM on WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 4th in Perlman Funeral Home, 1026 Main Street. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Memorial observance will be private.
