Ruth S. (Holt) McManus, 72, of 2 Columbus Street died Wednesday, November 27 in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center after an illness.

     She leaves her husband of 50 years, John B. McManus Jr. of Worcester; a son John B. "Jack" McManus husband of Jesslyn McManus; four daughters Sharon wife of Jeffrey Snow, Pamela wife of Russell Hultquist, Deborah wife of Peter Fahlbeck and Catherine Joseph all of Worcester; a cousin John "Sonny" Jankowski of Worcester who has lived with the McManus Family for the past 18 years; 11 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a brother Richard A. Holt and a sister Alice Holt. She was born in Manchester, New Hampshire daughter of Ernest and Exzelia (Gordon) Holt.

     Mrs. McManus worked in the Worcester Public Schools Nutrition Program retiring many years ago. She graduated from Worcester Girl's Trade as a cosmetologist. She was past president of Columbus Park School Mother's Club and the St. Andrew the Apostle Women's Guild and was still an active member. Mrs. McManus taught C.C.D. and was active in the C.Y.C. at St. Andrew the Apostle Church for many years. She volunteered for St. Andrew the Apostle Church, the Seven Hill's Foundation Saturday Night Bingo and was also an active volunteer for Project Share.
