Subscription Update Obituary

Ruth E. (Lindsten) Boo, 93, passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at home after a short illness.

Her husband of 39 years, Herbert I. Boo passed away in 1978. She leaves two daughters, Susan R. Langone and her husband Joseph of Princeton and Sally J. Cannon and her husband James of Deerfield, NH; a sister, Esther Polzin of CA; five grandchildren, Scott Langone and his wife Aimee of Salt Lake City, UT, Jace Langone of Brookline, Sherri Cannon, Shawn Cannon both of Deerfield, NH and Jennifer Langone of Boston; two great-grandchildren, AJ and Caroline; several nephews and nieces. Two sisters, Edith Nourse and Alice Meland and a brother, Stephen Lindsten, predeceased her.

She was born in Everett, the daughter of Thure and Hilda (Carlson) Lindsten and had lived in West Boylston and Holden before moving to Deerfield, NH 23 years ago. Ruth was raised in Worcester and graduated from Commerce High School. Ruth was a payroll clerk at Wyman Gordon in Worcester, a nurse’s aide at Memorial Hospital during World War II and a homemaker. Mrs. Boo was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Holden, The Sister-In-Law Club and the Wednesday’s Girls Club. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, October 19th, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. The funeral for Ruth will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 20th, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 346 Shrewsbury Street, Holden. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Memorial Contributions, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168.
