    Russell E. Weber, 87, of 57 Briarwood Circle, died Monday March 22, 2010 in UMass/Memorial Healthcare-Lake Ave.

He leaves his wife of 64 years, Ruth (Barnard) Weber; his two sons, Peter B. and his wife Ann Marie of Dudley, MA, and James R. and his wife Mary of Holden, MA.   Russell also leaves three grandchildren, Dr. Brittany Marie Weber-Rougemont and her husband, Dr. James Rougemont of Ludlow, MA, Bradley M. Weber and his wife Jamie of Sutton, MA., and April L. Weber of Holden, MA; one great-grandchild, Damian T. Weber; a nephew, Joseph L. Wetton and his wife Jacalyn of Worcester; three nieces, Ann Wetton of Colorado, Lauren Hughes of San Diego, CA, and Susan Lambert of San Diego; his sister-in-law, June and her husband William Jonczyk of North Carolina; as well as grand-nieces and nephews and a step great-granddaughter. He was predeceased by two sisters, Laura Wetton and Betty Hughes.

Born in Hartford, Ct., son of Louis and Anna (Davidson) Weber, he graduated from South High School, and served in the U.S. Army during WW2. He was one of the founders of Allied Metal Products, now known as Allied Machined Products Corp, along with his father in 1946, and served as its President until his retirement in 1985. However, he still enjoyed going to work on a regular basis and helping at the shop wherever he could.

Russell especially enjoyed both powerboats and sailboats, once building his own boat, and was a member of the Power Squadron, where he loved to participate in and win navigation competitions. He will also be remembered as a talented woodworker who spent many hours in the “Dog House”, where he built his own grandfather clock, as well as creating many lasting gifts for his family.  Russell also enjoyed playing many card games and Scrabble with his friends and family.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. CASWELL-KING FUNERAL HOME 474 Grove St. will be directing all arrangements. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to benefit the assisted living program at Briarwood Continuing Care Retirement Community, 65 Briarwood Circle, Worcester, MA 01606.
