Subscription Update Obituary

    Ruby J. (Chapman) Booth, 96, formerly of West Mountain Street and Auburn, died Friday, May 1st in the Radius Health Care Center, Worcester.

    Her husband of 57 years, Allard D. Booth, died in 1983.

    She leaves two daughters: Virginia Groccia and her husband Sal of Daytona Beach, FL, and her caregiver, Barbara Cowden of Auburn; a son, Warren Booth and his wife Judy of Spencer; four grandchildren: Wendie Holland and her husband James, Lisa Creelman, David and Jeffrey Booth; five great grandchildren: Stephanie, Michael and Joshua Creelman, Hannah and Casey Holland; and a great great grandson, Cory Creelman. She also leaves her devoted niece, Patricia Petro and her husband Peter of Worcester. She was predeceased by her brother, David Chapman.

    She was born in Airdrie, Scotland, daughter of the late William and Margaret (Johnston) Chapman. She was raised in Worcester and had lived in Auburn for 30 years, returning to Worcester several years ago. She attended Commerce High School.

    A longtime homemaker, Mrs. Booth worked as the snack counter manager for the former Zayre's Department Store in Webster Square for more than 10 years. A talented baker and crafter, Ruby will be remembered for the many beautiful crafts she created and shared so generously with family and friends.

    Her daughter Barbara would like to thank the caregivers on the 3rd floor at Radius Health Care for their kindness, care and compassion. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Ruby's family on Wednesday, May 6th from 10-11 AM at the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St, Auburn. A service will be held at 11 AM in the funeral home, followed by burial in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
