Subscription Update Obituary

RoseMarie D. (Zona) Stanton, 90, of Worcester, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at Beaumont Rehabilitation in Westborough. Her husband of sixty-three years, Ronald C. Stanton, Sr., predeceased her in March 2017.

RoseMarie is survived by a son, Ronald C. Stanton, Jr. and his wife Tracey; three daughters, Roseann Brindisi and her husband Dominic of Uxbridge, Rachael Rossi and her husband Alan of Charlton, and Patricia Saladyga and her husband Greg of Ludlow; a brother Richard Zona of Auburn; two sisters, Shirley Mattero of Shrewsbury and Patricia Palumbo-Murphy of North Grafton; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. RoseMarie and Ronald tragically suffered the loss of a daughter, Donna Marie Stanton in 2001; she was also predeceased by a brother Lawrence Zona and by a sister, Jeanette Shoblom. RoseMarie was born in Worcester, daughter of the late, Pasquale and Rachel (Novia) Zona, and has lived in Worcester all her life.

RoseMarie was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel-Saint Anne Church, she was a volunteer and later President of the Lincoln Village Community Services and Social Club. She loved spending time with her family, especially on Christmas Eve where she showcased her great cooking skills. She enjoyed travelling and was fortunate to have visited Italy, Hawaii, Aruba, and Disney to name a few.

Calling Hours will be on Friday, December 6, in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, from 9 a.m. until her Funeral Service begins at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Salmon VNA and Hospice, 37 Birch Street, Milford, MA 01757.
