Subscription Update Obituary

    Ronald K. Luthman, 73, of Worcester, died peacefully at home on Thursday, July 15, 2010.

    He leaves his wife of 54 years, Gloria I. (Knight) Luthman and two children, Mark A. Luthman and his wife Sandra of Hubbardston and Kim A. Myles-Hedgepeth and her husband Gordon Hedgepeth, Jr. of Holden and his only grandchild, Monica L. Myles of Holden. Ron leaves two brothers, William and Russell Luthman; four sisters, Helen Bartol, Anne Baisley, Donna Harrison and Dorothy Delman; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Raymond and Robert Luthman. He was born in Worcester the son of Thure and Helen (Hazelwood) Luthman.

    Ron was proud of his military service as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army 18th Airborne Corps. He was educated in Worcester public Schools and graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester. Ron worked for the Norton Company for 10 years and recently worked for Holmes Transportation in Framingham. Ron was a member of St. George’s Church in Worcester. He was a referee for the Worcester Pee Wee Hockey League years ago and enjoyed ice fishing in the winter. He was an avid golfer winning many club championships and tournaments over the years. He was a member of Bedrock Golf Course.

    Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, July 19th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on July 20th in St. George’s Church, 40 Brattle St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Worcester Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden St., Worcester, MA 01606.
