Subscription Update Obituary

Roland Chaffee, 91, died Sunday, May 22, 2011 in St. Cloud, FL.

He is predeceased by his wife of 46 years, Iona Chaffee. He leaves his 7 children: Rodney Carlson, Beverly Gram, Larry Chaffee, Richard Carlson, Joyce Bergeron, Frank Chaffee & Viola Chaffee; many grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his youngest son Walter Chaffee.

Roland was born in Enfield, MA the son of Frank & Elsie (Grundy) Chaffee. As a young man he served his country with the US Army during WWII for four years. Roland was then a dairy farmer and raised his family over the next 50 years. He retired in 1984 and continued to work with his son Frank on the dairy farm and participate in local tractor pulls. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour on Friday May 27, 2011 from 9-10 AM in Pillsbury Funeral Home, 44 Gilbert St., North Brookfield. The funeral will follow at 10:00 AM in the funeral home. Burial with Military Honors will be in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
