Subscription Update Obituary

    Roger J. Gauvin Sr., 54, of Worcester, died on Friday, February 26th in his home after a brief illness.

    Mr. Gauvin is survived by two sons: Roger J. Gauvin Jr. and Marc J. Gauvin; two daughters: Danielle M. Gauvin and Melissa A. Kniskern all of Worcester; five brothers: Paul Gauvin of Worcester, John Gauvin of Charlton, Robert Gauvin and Norman Gauvin both of Dudley and Richard Gauvin of Worcester; three sisters: Angela Allain of Millbury, Louise Gauvin and Joanne Turner both of Worcester; a grandson R.J.; and many nephews and nieces.

    Roger was born in Worcester, son of the late Thomas and Delphine (Bourque) Gauvin and graduated from South High School.

    He worked for New England Power Company and was a former member of the Knights of Columbus Alhambra Council #88. Roger enjoyed playing softball and bowling in the Colonial Bowling League.

    The funeral will be held on Monday, March 1st from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Hammond St. with a Mass at 10 AM in Saint Peter’s Church, 931 Main St. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are on Sunday, February 28th from 5 to 8 PM in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association , 330 Congress St. Boston, MA 02210.
