Roger A. Lavoie, 80, died May 13, 2006, at Medow Place, Leicester, Mass.
He was the widower of Mary (McGrellis) Lavoie; the son of the late Medard and Alphonsine (Daigle) Lavoie. He was born on June 11, 1925, Edmundston, Canada. He had three brothers and two sisters. His family moved to Gardner, Mass. during the Depression. Later, he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving four years during World War II. He served at USN Section Base, Tompkinsville, NY and the USS San Marcos (LSD-25) two years in the Pacific, ranking as a Metalsmith, second class. He retired from the City of Worcester in 1975. Roger was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3657, Worcester.
Roger leaves his daughters, Diane Rice of North Brookfield, Joanne (Maynard) of NH, Renee Evens of NH; three special granddaughters, Tammy, Bonnie, Tanya, along with five other granchildren and great grandchildren.
