Subscription Update Obituary

     Roderick R. Martocci, 90, of Worcester, died Friday, June 27, 2014. He leaves his sister, Faith E. Caron of Oxford, and many nephews and nieces. Rod was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Martocci and four sisters, Anna “Rita” Meola, Mary Martocci, Sabina Martella and Patricia McCormick.

He was born in Worcester, son of Rocco M. and Catherine C. (Carey) Martocci. He was a Marine Corps Veteran of both World War II and the Korean War. Rod worked for over 20 years in men’s shoe sales at Kennedy’s Department Store and Wallach’s Men’s Clothing. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church, the local and national chapters of the 2nd Marine Division Association and the Tatnuck American Legion Post 288. Rod enjoyed his many trips to Las Vegas.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 2 from CALLAHAN~FAY & CASWELL FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle Street, with a Mass at 10:00 am at Blessed Sacrament Church, 555 Pleasant Street, Worcester. Burial with follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A visiting hour will also be held on Wednesday, from 8:30-9:30 am at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Rod’s memory may be made to Central Mass Shelter for Homeless Veteran’s, 69 Grove Street, Worcester, MA 01605.
