Subscription Update Obituary

   Robert V. "Bob" Counihan, 81, of Paxton, died Sunday, September 3rd in Life Care Center of Auburn. He leaves his wife of 59 years, Lillian A. (Morse) Counihan; a son, Robert J. Counihan of Brewster, NY; a daughter, Catherine T., wife of David Polewarczyk of Sterling and his granddaughter Amy M. Polewarczyk; 4 brothers, James, Edward, Timothy and John Counihan; and 3 sisters, Elizabeth Salmon, Barbara Swisher and Rita Keslof predeceased him.

   He was born in Worcester the son of Timothy and Catherine (Murphy) Counihan. Mr. Counihan was a Navy veteran serving in World War II. He worked for the Worcester Police Department as a Patrolman and later with the License Board until his retirement in 1978. Mr. Counihan was a member of St. Columba Church, the Worcester County Retired Police & Firefighters Association and the Massachusetts Police Association.

   The funeral is Thursday, September 7th from O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10 AM in St. Columba Church, 18 Richards Avenue, Paxton. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park. Calling hours are Wednesday, September 6th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
