Subscription Update Obituary

     Robert L. Vaught, 86, of Worcester, died Thursday, August 16th at his home after a brief illness. His wife of 48 years, Dorothy E. (Wells) Vaught died in 2005. He is survived by four daughters, Kathleen O hEigeartaigh Tremblay of Hudson, Laura Lincoln of Cedar Park, TX, Colleen McGinn of Worcester and Elisabeth Biernik of Chattanooga, TN; his sister, Wanda DeWolfe of Wayne, PA; seven grandchildren; many step-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. He was looking forward to becoming a great-grandfather early next year.
     He was born in Jamestown, ND, the youngest of five children, to Claude C. and Ida Bell (O’Dell) Vaught; and later moved his family to the east coast. Mr. Vaught was an Army Air Corp veteran serving during World War II. He was a graduate of the University of North Dakota and eventually opened Vaught Construction, a general contracting firm in Holden. Mr. Vaught had been an active member of St. George’s Parish before his retirement, and later a member of Blessed Sacrament Church.
     His funeral is Tuesday, August 21st, from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church, 555 Pleasant Street. Burial will take place at a later date. His calling hours are Monday, August 20th from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society , 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
