Robert Lee "Bob" Evans, Jr. 69 of Worcester passed away Saturday, March 10th in St. Vincent Hospital.

He is survived by his wife and partner of 45 years, Ola M. (Adams) Evans; two devoted daughters: Sheila Dejarnnete, LaDonna Evans-Ampadu and her husband Samuel; two sons: Lance Evans and Robert L. Evans, III, all of Worcester; four brothers: Charlie Evans in Missouri, Don & Ray Evans, both in Florida and McKinney Evans in North Carolina; a sister, Lizzie Evans in Florida; seven grandchildren: Evan, Eric, Lance, Candace, Jalen Ashton, Anika and Samantha; many nieces, nephews, cousins and many other foster grandchildren. Three brothers: Marvin, Joe, and Bobby Evans, and two sisters: Carrie Stoval and Dorothy Evans predeceased him. Robert was born in Doddsville, Mississippi, son of the late Robert Lee Evans, Sr. and Estella (Smith) Evans. He has lived here more than 41 years.

Robert worked for North Company as a machine operator over 30 years before retiring in 2002. After retirement, Robert was a crossing guard for the City of Worcester at the All School. He was a member, deacon and former Deacon Board Chairman of Second Baptist Church. A member of the Sons of David Lodge of Masons. He was an avid walker and enjoyed video taping.

Robert's funeral service will be held Friday, March 16th at 11:30 a.m. in the Second Baptist Church, 14 Hammond St. Calling hours will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 16th. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. The MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., has been chosen to assist the family with arrangements.
