Subscription Update Obituary

     Robert K. “Pappy” Smith, 83 of Holden, passed away Sunday, October 6 surrounded by his loving family.

     His wife of 31 years, Helen T. (Finn) Smith died in 1990. He leaves five children, Kathleen Laliberte and her husband Jeffrey of Port Richie, FL; Linda M. Mulhearn and her husband Bob of Holden; Ann Marie Smith of Uxbridge; Robert K. Smith, Jr. of Titusville, FL and Pamela A. Gray and her husband Steven of West Boylston; a grand-daugther, Stephanie Gray of West Boylston; and two great-grand-daughters, Katelyn Debs and Rebecca Paldino both of Worcester. A grandson, Aaron Gray predeceased him. He was born in Waterford, CT son of Ernest H. and Rena G. (Stevens) Smith and graduated from Holden High School.

     Bob worked for the Reed Roll Thread Company, for many years before retiring. He was a longtime member of St. George’s Church, past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Council #88, past Faithful Navigator of the Bishop O’Reilly Assembly 4th Degree; past president of the St. Vincent dePaul Society Central Council and an honorary member of the Blackstone Valley Marine Corps League.

     Pappy had a very full and active life. He was loved by all who knew him and his passing has left a huge void in our hearts.

     A Funeral will be held Wednesday, October 9, from FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 1 W. Boylston St., West Boylston with a Mass at 10 AM in St. George’s Church, 38 Brattle St., Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Visiting Hours are Tuesday, October 8 from 4 to 7 PM at the funeral home.
