Subscription Update Obituary

Robert H. “Bob” Evans, 68, passed away at home on Saturday, May 7, 2011 surrounded by his loving family after a long illness. He leaves his wife of 44 years, Priscilla E. (Erickson) Evans; 3 daughters, Charlene and her husband Chris Plona of Auburn, Cheryl and her husband Chris Foster of Holden, and Carrie and Brian Courteau of Auburn; and 8 grandchildren, Cameron, Nicole, Brianna, Connor, Parker, Evan, Miranda, and Chelsey. He was predeceased by a brother Thomas Evans.

Bob was born in Worcester, son of Arthur and Louise (Burkhardt) Evans, graduated from Commerce High School, and served in the National Guard. He worked as a banker for many years, retiring as the Assistant Vice President of Operations of Fleet Bank. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, was a standardized patient in the UMASS program, and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. in Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. Worcester, MA 01605. A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Thursday May 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in Trinity Lutheran Church 73 Lancaster St. Worcester. Burial will be private at a later date. Please omit flowers. Donations in Bob’s memory may be made to Camp Calumet Lutheran PO Box 236 W. Ossipee, NH 03890.
