Subscription Update Obituary

   Robert E. Shays, 47, of Millbury Street, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2007, surrounded by his devoted family at Saint Vincent Hospital.

   He leaves his wife, Linda (Fikoski) Shays; three sons, Robert E. Shays, Jr. and his wife Serena, Eric Shays and his fiancé Jennifer and Jonathan Shays all from Northborough; a daughter, Shelly Shays and her fiancé Keefe of Northborough; his mother, Phyllis (Mossa) Lavallee of St. Petersburg, Florida; ten brothers, Harry, Roger, Wayne, Philip, George, James, John, Brian, Glen and Todd Shays; seven sisters, Debra Peters, Darlene Kelleher, Robin Rose, Cindy Bonneville, Lisa Shays, Kathy Bonneville, and Gina Wilcox; five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

   Robert was born in Worcester, the son of the late Harry L. Shays and has lived in Worcester all of his life. He was a loving, honest, hard working man, whose greatest joy was his family. He will be missed and remembered by everyone he touched.

   The funeral for Robert will be held Monday, December 3rd, from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Stephen Church, 357 Grafton St. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be held Sunday, Dec. 2nd from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
