Subscription Update Obituary

     Robert C. “Pete” Randell, 77, of Worcester, died Saturday, June 28, 2014 at the Jewish Healthcare Center, 629 Salisbury St.

He leaves three brothers, Frederick “Fred” Randell of Worcester, Bernard “Bernie” Randell and his wife Mary of Worcester, and Ernest “Ernie” Randell and his wife Mary Jane of Sutton; a sister-in-law, Florence Randell of Worcester, his caregiver Rick Agbay of Shrewsbury; many nieces and nephews and their families. He was predeceased by a brother, William Randell, a sister Priscilla May Goodless, and a special friend Mémère Bourque. He was born in Holden, son of Chesley A. and Josephine A. (Ryan) Randell.

Pete was a storekeeper for the City of Worcester Water Department. He previously worked at Johnson Steel & Wire. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was also a member of the American Legion and St Vincent de Paul from whom he received the Top Hat Award.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, July 2 from Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave, with a 10:00 am Mass at St. John’s Church, 44 Temple St, Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Tuesday, July 1 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul or St. John’s Church Food for the Poor, 44 Temple St, Worcester, MA 01604.
