Subscription Update Obituary

Rita R. (Perreault) Croteau, 81, of Worcester, died Friday, November 17, at Shrewsbury Nursing Home.

She was predeceased in 1993 by her husband of 47 years, Napoleon B. Croteau, a Worcester firefighter. She leaves two sons, Paul B. Croteau and his wife Linda of Leicester and Denis J. Croteau and his wife Donna of Worcester; four grandchildren, Kristen Corbett, Michael, Matthew, and Melissa Croteau; two great-grandsons, Andrew and Ryan Corbett; and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her sister, Valma Calhan. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Dona G. and Helen (Kane) Perreault and lived in Worcester most of her life. She graduated from the former Holy Family High School.

Rita was a bookkeeper at the Mount Pleasant Country Club in Boylston. She was a member of St. George's Catholic Church, it's Women's Guild and bereavement committee. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, Scrabble and Jumble. She was at one time an avid roller skater. She also volunteered at Higgins Armory.

The funeral will be held Tuesday, November 21, from RICE FUNERAL HOME, 300 Park Ave, with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. George's Catholic Church, 38 Brattle St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours will be held Monday, November 20 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
