Subscription Update Obituary

    Rita M. (Brown) Belsito, 92, of Shrewsbury and Wells Maine, died peacefully Friday, February 12, 2010 in the Radius Healthcare Center, surrounded by her loving family. Her husband, Charles Belsito died in 1997. Rita is survived by a son, James R. Belsito and his wife Sally of St. Cloud Florida; a daughter, Anna DiStefano of Millbury wife of the late Salvatore DiStefano; a sister, Claire Stansky of Worcester, and eight grandchildren, Donna Sauro, Salvatore and Charles DiStefano, Dianne Mondor, Deanne Keddy, Thomas and Charles Belsito, and Christopher Cournoyer, eleven great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A son, Harold Belsito, and a grandson, Jimmy Belsito predeceased her.

    Rita was born in Worcester, daughter of the late George and Anna (Auclair) Brown and has lived in Shrewsbury for 53 years. She was a graduate of St. Josephs High School. Rita worked at the Jamesbury Corporation for many years before she retired. She was a member of St. Anne Church, the Jamesbury Retirement Club, and the Shrewsbury Senior Center. She also enjoyed her visits to the Summit Elder Care. Rita enjoyed crocheting, knitting and reading. She loved country music, but most of all she enjoyed being with her family. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

    Rita's funeral will be held Wednesday from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00AM in St. Anne's Church, 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury.

    Calling hours in the funeral home are from 6-8PM on Tuesday. Interment will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
