Subscription Update Obituary

     Rita M. (Glidden) Behrens, 81, of Ballard St., passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2009, at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, William J. Behrens Sr. of Oxford; five children, Theresa S. Germain and her husband Charles of Charlton, Joseph Hedge of Oxford, Louise Lindberg and her husband Lee of Webster, William J. Behrens Jr. and his wife Cheri of Webster, and Peter E. Behrens and his wife Donna of Oxford; a brother, David Glidden of North Grafton; a sister, Helen Klewiec of Spencer; eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and many nephews, nieces, and cousins. She was predeceased by a daughter, Elizabeth A. “Beth” Behrens of Oxford, who died in 2006. She was born in Rochdale, the daughter of the late Edward and Hazel (Miller) Glidden, and lived most of her life in Oxford.

    Mrs. Behrens enjoyed being outside, especially working in her yard and gardening. She was a dedicated mother, taking care of her daughter Beth throughout her life, and enjoyed spending time with her family.

    A funeral will be held at 9 a.m. on Monday, August 17, 2009, from Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a graveside service at 10 a.m. at Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Ave., Paxton. Calling hours are Sunday, August 16, 2009, from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
