Subscription Update Obituary

    Rita B. (McMahon) Fisher McCullough, 89, of Auburn died Friday May 21, 2010 in Webster Manor Nursing Home with her family at her side after a brief illness.

    Her husband Harry McCullough died in 1996.

    She is survived by her children: William E. Fisher of Oxford, Bernice F. Gilbert of Storrs, CT, and Clifford H. Fisher of Oxford; 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

    She is preceded in death by her daughter, Carol LaRoche, and sons, Stephen Fisher, and Harold Fisher, Jr. and a great granddaughter, Kristi Lee Gustafson and her 14 siblings.

    She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late John W. and Mary E. (Devens) McMahon. She worked as a retail clerk for Sears and Roebuck in Auburn for many years before retiring. She was an avid cook; she loved to garden and to read, and travel. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

    Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, May 27, 2010 from 5-8 PM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn. Her funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday May 28 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park.
