Subscription Update Obituary

     Rita C. (Goodney) Ganczarski, 88, of 265 Chace St., died Sunday, March 4, 2012 in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester, following an illness. Her husband of 52 years, Adolph J. Ganczarski, died in 2000.
She is survived by a daughter, Donna M. Ganczarski with whom she lived; two granddaughters: Ann M. Vincent and her husband, Matthew, of Clinton and Lee A. LaFlamme and her husband, Brian, of Sterling, a daughter-in-law, Kathleen S. Ganczarski of Sterling; three great-grandchildren: James Vincent, and Kendall and Brayden LaFlamme; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sons: John J. Ganczarski in 1996, and Donald R. Ganczarski in 2000, and a brother, Raymond Goodney.
Born in Worcester, the daughter of Albert J. and Mary A. (Wall) Goodney, Rita was raised in Millbury and attended Millbury High School.
She worked for 15 years at the former Shusta’s Woolen Mill in Millbury and later at various Clinton area businesses, including the former Atlas Label Company and Bob’s Turkey Farm, Lancaster.
Rita was a devoted member of Our Lady of Jasna Gora Church and an active member of its Women’s League. She was also a member of the P.A.V. Auxiliary. An avid Bingo player, she enjoyed visiting Mohegan Sun, and above all, spending time with her family.
Rita’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 with a service at 10:00 a.m. in the McNally Watson Funeral Home, 304 Church St. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 from 5 – 7 pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be made in memory of Rita to: Clinton Ambulance Fund, c/o Clinton Firefighters, 555 Main Street, Clinton, MA 01510 or to: The Animal Shelter, 17 Laurelwood Rd., Sterling, MA 01564.
