Subscription Update Obituary

Richard P. Bird, Jr, 60, of Auburn, died Tuesday, May 17, 2011 in Autumn Village Nursing Home, Worcester after an illness.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Jacqueline (Walsh) Bird, and his two sisters: Kathleen Chevalier of Londonderry, NH and Jeanne Bosco of Revere; he also leaves many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.

Richard was born in Chelsea; he is the son of the late Richard P. and Mary L. (Iandosca) Bird. He is a 1969 graduate of the Dominic Savio High School in East Boston, and a 1975 graduate of Northeastern University.

Mr. Bird served his country as a member of the United States Army.

Richard was an avid reader and liked to listen to music.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, May 20, 2011 from 5-7 PM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn. His funeral will be held Saturday, May 21, 2011 from the funeral home with a Mass at 10 AM in St. Joseph’s Church, 189 Oxford St. North, Auburn. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park.
