Subscription Update Obituary

    Richard J. Mitchell, Jr., age 66, passed away Saturday, April 10, 2010, in Saint Vincent Hospital.

    He leaves his wife of 44 years, Judith L. (Stevens) Mitchell; a son and three daughters, Melinda G., Doreen L., Wendy J., and David M. Mitchell all of Worcester; 4 grandchildren, Dylan, Brittany, Courtney, and Madison; a step-brother, Daryl J. Brooks of CA; a sister, Debra A. Law of CT; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Michael Mitchell and his beloved dog, Mickey.

    Richard was born in Worcester, son of Marion (Marrah) and Richard J. Mitchell, Sr. He was a graduate of St. Peter Central Catholic High School. He was a member of the First Congregational Church and past member of the Lodge of Elks. He was the owner of Kozy Korner's Spa for 10 years and worked at M & M Catering. Richard enjoyed summers at Old Orchard Beach, fishing, golfing, billiards, casinos, and the Red Sox. He was a professional bowler and won many trophies and awards for his talent.

    Calling hours will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Weds., April 14, from 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at First Congregational Church, 1070 Pleasant Street on Thurs., April 15, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Church or the American Diabetes Association.
