Subscription Update Obituary

    Richard J. DiPietro, 65, of Worcester passed away Friday, October 16, 2009 from injuries associated with an accident from work.

    Richard is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years, Esther (Mayotte) DiPietro; three daughters, Michele Wallace and her husband Scott of Worcester, Kathleen Escobar and her husband Carlos of Leicester and Christine DiPietro of Worcester; his father, William J. DiPietro Sr. of Millbury; two brothers, William J. DiPietro Jr. of Florida and David DiPietro of Oxford; a sister, Gail Cone of South Carolina; five grandchildren, Richard Barrette, Alysa and Nicholas Wallace, Anthony and Michael Escobar and many nieces and nephews.

    Richard was born in Worcester on July 8, 1944, son of the late Anna (Adukas) DiPietro and has lived in Worcester all of his life. He was a Veteran, serving in the United States Marines. Mr. DiPietro worked in the construction industry as a heavy equipment mechanic for most of his life, most recently being employed for Borggaard Construction in North Grafton. He was a devoted, husband, loving father, grandfather and friend. He was the foundation of his family. To him, family was everything and those special times spent with his family were his joy.

    You are invited to attend his visiting hours in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm Tuesday, October 20th. His funeral will be held at Temple Baptist Church, 350 Stafford Street, Cherry Valley on Wednesday, October 21st at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial donations to the Friendly House, 36 Wall Street, Worcester, MA 01604.
